Biking Trek from Venice Beach to Redondo Beach!

Last month, I got on a bike for the first time since age 12. My colleague, Ivette Turon, and I were pumped up to bike from Santa Monica to Redondo Beach. Needless to say, the first mile was a bit shakey, as I clumsily dodged oncoming traffic made up of pedestrians, strollers, dogs and people on all sorts of contraptions, as you can imagine you’d find in Venice Beach. Anyway, we ended up getting lost in Marina Del Rey for over an hour, so we turned around and headed back to Santa Monica.

This past Saturday, we were DETERMINED to make it to Redondo Beach. Ivette Turon and I recruited Jeff Mindell this time to join our adventure. We all work at Keller Williams Realty Larchmont. We jumped on our bikes at Venice Beach this time, and kept our eyes peeled for the signs labeled “Marvin Braude Bike Path” that everyone told us that we should just follow.

The ocean and views were STUNNING. I couldn’t have asked for better weather for the ride. The fog cleared up around 9 am, we enjoyed a cool breeze, the sun was out…what a great way to get exercise with great company and feel like a kid again! MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

If you haven’t made this trip before, I highly recommend it. Just remember to follow the Marvin Braude Bike Path when you’re making your way around the Marina Del Rey harbor. Enjoy, folks!
